These sweep radar data are location radial velocity products. Horizontal resolution is 1 degree x 250 m. The horizontal range is 150 km. The product has an availability of 5 min. This data is available with and without polarimetric filter, which flags interfering signals and increases the quality of the data. The data is available for the following radar sites: Borkum, Boostedt, Rostock, Hannover, Ummendorf, Prötzel, Essen, Flechtdorf, Dresden, Neuhaus, Neuheilenbach, Offenthal, Eisberg, Türkheim, Isen, Feldberg, Memmingen. Up-to-date radar site data is available in the linked list of "Radar and wind profiler locations of DWD". This data is available with and without polarimetric filtering. Polarimetric filtering removes non-meteorological interference signals to improve data quality.

The sweep radar data are location radial velocity products. Horizontal resolution is 1 degree x 250 m. The horizontal range is 180 km. The product has an availability of 5 min. This data is available with and without a polarimetric clutter filter, which eliminates non-meteorological echos to increase the quality of the data. Note: In order to convert the numerical values contained in the HDF5 files into physical quantities (dBZ), it is necessary to use the attributes “gain”, “offset”, “nodata” and “undetect”; see section 4.5 in ‘OPERA weather radar information model in HDF5 v2.3 (PDF)’.
