  Energy commodities - input data set dynamic hydrocarbon model – Entenschnabel (duck’s beak)

This input data set contains the individual stratigraphic horizons of the dynamic KW model from the northwest of the German North Sea, the so-called Duck's beak, in the form of depth maps. The required erosion events were incorporated into the model with the corresponding erosion maps. Salt upwelling is considered and petrophysical properties as well as organic-geochemical values and reaction kinetics were assigned for calculating the maturity and hydrocarbon genesis of the petroleum source rocks in the model. A total of three potential source rocks, one from the Lower Carboniferous (Namur-Viséan) and two others from the Lower Jurassic (Posidonia Shale) and Upper Jurassic (Hot Shale), are studied. Calibration data, such as vitrinite reflectance and temperature, were inserted. Boundary conditions such as paleowater depth (PWD), sediment-water interface temperature (SWIT), and basal heat flux (HF), which can be used to reconstruct thermal history, are incorporated into the 3D model. The model can be numerically simulated and provides initial information on the maturity of potential petroleum source rocks. The 3D model was created using the software package PetroMod, Schlumberger version 2014.1 and converted to 2015.1 and 2016.1.
