Cypriot country dataset for EuroBoundaryMap 2021

EuroBoundaryMap country dataset provides a geographic database for administrative and statistical regions that will be maintained at the source level by the National Mapping and Cadastral Agencies (NMCAs), and by providing harmonized access conditions for this geographic information within the framework of EuroGeographics.

Description

The Cypriot contribution to the EBM database was mainly derived from the official Cadastral Databases of the Cyprus Land Information System (LIS). The LIS databases store vector information at several scales and in a variety of resolutions. The Cypriot EBM dataset was derived from cadastral plans (scales 1:500 - 1:5000). Original digital topographic and cadastral data were generalised based on EBM standards. Geographical names appearing in the EBM dataset were standardised by the Permanent Committee for the Standardization of Geographical Names of Cyprus, and they are officially included in the Complete Gazetteer that was submitted and approved by the United Nations.
