Umweltallianz Mecklenburg-Vorpommern

Im August 2001 vereinbarte die Landesregierung, vertreten durch die damaligen Wirtschafts- und Umweltminister, mit den Wirtschaftsverbänden (den Industrie- und Handelskammern zu Neubrandenburg, Rostock und Schwerin, den beiden Handwerkskammern sowie der Vereinigung der Unternehmensverbände e.V.) die Gründung der Umweltallianz Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Seit dem Jahr 2009 unterstützt ebenfalls der Landkreistag Mecklenburg-Vorpommern als weiterer Träger die Umweltallianz. Als freiwillige und auf Dauer angelegte Vereinbarung soll sie die Attraktivität des Wirtschaftsstandortes Mecklenburg-Vorpommern ebenso erhöhen, wie zum Erhalt der intakten Naturausstattung beitragen. Sie bietet Unternehmern des Landes eine Plattform, sich in politische Fragestellungen einzubringen. An der Umweltallianz Mecklenburg-Vorpommern beteiligen sich derzeit (2011) 71 Unternehmen aus verschiedenen Branchen.
