Grundwasserentnahmen Landkreis Rotenburg (Wümme)

Als Grundwasser bezeichnet man das unterirdische Wasser in der Sättigungszone, das in unmittelbarer Berührung mit dem Boden oder dem Untergrund steht. Grundwasser führende Schichten nennt man Grundwasserleiter. Je nach geologischen Verhältnissen können ein oder mehrere Grundwasserstockwerke übereinander liegen, deren einzelne Grundwasserleiter jeweils durch zwischengelagerte undurchlässige Schichten voneinander getrennt sind. Das Grundwasser ist durch die als Filtersystem wirkenden Deckschichten vor Verunreinigungen gut geschützt. Dennoch besteht eine Gefährdung auch tiefer gelegener Grundwasservorkommen durch andauernde Schadstoffeinträge, die z. B. aus Luftverschmutzungen, übermäßiger Ausbringung von Dünge- und Pflanzenschutzmitteln oder aus Altlasten stammen können. Zum Schutz dieses Trinkwassers müssen die Grundwasservorkommen erkundet, bewertet und ständig überwacht werden. Das Entnehmen von Grundwasser ist grundsätzlich erlaubnispflichtig. Dies gilt auch für zeitlich begrenzte Bauwasserhaltungen.
