Trifluoracetat (TFA): Herkunft und Belastungen (Applikation)

Trifluoracetat (TFA) ist ein Abbauprodukt vieler verschiedener Stoffe, unter anderem verschiedener Pflanzenschutzmittel und Kältemittel. TFA selbst wird jedoch in der Umwelt nicht weiter abgebaut. Als sehr persistente und in Gewässern hochmobile Substanz reichert es sich im Wasserkreislauf an und lässt sich auf technischem Wege auch in der Trinkwasseraufbereitung kaum entfernen. TFA stellt deshalb trotz seiner toxikologischen Unauffälligkeit eine Herausforderung für Trinkwasserressourcenschutz sowie allgemeinen Gewässerschutz dar.
