Nutzbare Feldkapazität des Bodens bis 100 cm Profiltiefe ist die Menge Bodenwasser in Volumen-% oder mm Wassersäule, den dieser bei einer definierten Saugspannung zwischen pF = 1,8 und pF = 4,2 oder in Poren mit einem Äquivalentdurchmesser zwischen 50 µm und 0,2 µm binden kann. Die Klassifikation erfolgt entsprechend KA5, S. 349, Tab. 74.

Für Böden, bei denen Skelett bzw. Festgestein in einer geringeren Tiefe anstehen, beziehen sich die Angaben auf die Mächtigkeit des Solums:
