Bericht: „Strandschnecke Littorina littorea: Bestimmung Intersex-Index; Niedersächsische Küste (2010)“

An sieben Stationen wurden Strandschnecken (Littorina littorea) bei Niedrigwasser gesammelt. Sechs der Stationen werden im Rahmen des Bund-Länder-Messprogramms (BLMP) untersucht. Zusätzlich zu diesen BLMP-Standorten wurde die Untersuchung des Intersex-Index (ISI) 2008 an einer weiteren Station durchgeführt: Dornumer-Accumersiel Hafen. Die Stationen Borkum Port Henry und Norddeich Osthafen, die zuvor ebenfalls zusätzlich beprobt wurden, werden seit 2008 nicht mehr untersucht. Die Littorinen wurden entsprechend der OSPAR-Richtlinien untersucht. Entsprechend dem Klassifikationssystem für biologische Effekte der EU-Wasserrahmenrichtlinie werden auf der Basis des bei der Strandschnecke ermittelten ISI fünf ökologische Zustandsklassen beschrieben.
