Ortsnamen Niedersachsen

Verzeichnis der Ortsnamen in Niedersachsen (ATKIS), d.h. geografische Namen der Orte und Wohnplätze in Niedersachsen (GeoNam); Ausdehnung Niedersachsen;

soweit Wohnplätze untergegangen sind, sind diese teilweise als "Volkstümliche Siedlungsnamen" in diesem Datensatz verblieben. Die Ortsnamen der Topographischen Karte 1 : 25 000 wurden erstmalig nach der Geometrie der Topographischen Karte 1 : 100 000 erfasst. Dabei wurde der gewachsene Ortsmittelpunkt (nicht Schwerpunkt) gewählt. So entstand ein Datensatz mit ca. 16000 Ortsnamen.
