Open GeoData Liste der Braunschweiger Straßennamen
Zur Orientierung im Stadtgebiet und zum zweifelsfreien Auffinden von Grundstücken werden Straßen, Wege und Plätze mit Namen benannt sowie für Gebäude Hausnummern vergeben. Straßen, Wege und Plätze werden durch den Rat der Stadt Braunschweig benannt. Die Grundlage für das Beschlussrecht bildet die Niedersächsische Gemeindeordnung. An der Benennung von Straßen sind neben dem Rat auch die Stadtbezirksräte, die Heimatpfleger sowie verschiedene Ausschüsse beteiligt. Die Benennungsvorschläge werden von der Abteilung Geoinformation erarbeitet, mit den Beteiligten abgestimmt und bis zur Beschlussfassung federführend begleitet. Die Geodaten unterliegen grundsätzlich dem Urheberrecht und werden von der Stadt Braunschweig als Rechteinhaber unter der bundesweit verwendeten "Datenlizenz Deutschland - Namensnennung - Version 2.0" bereitgestellt. Es sind sowohl private als auch kommerzielle Nutzungen erlaubt.
