Die Höhenlinien werden aus dem Digitalen Geländemodell (DGM) automatisch mit einer Äquidistanz von 2,5 m abgeleitet. Es erfolgt keine gesonderte kartographische Aufbereitung der Daten. Die Aufgrund der kachelweisen Erzeugung generierten Höhenlinien werden zusammengefasst und geglättet. Sie stellen den Ausgangspunkt für die Erstellung der Höhenlinien der Digitalen Topographischen Karten (DTK) dar. Die Bereitstellung erfolgt im Höhenreferenzsystem DHHN2016. Die Höhengenauigkeit der Gitterpunkte der Ausgangsdaten beträgt +/- 0,15 m.
