Infrarot-Luftbilder - Digitale CIR-Orthofotos der Stadt Braunschweig aus dem Bildflug 2008

In einer digitalen Befliegung am 8. Mai 2008 wurden aus einem Flugzeug hunderte von Einzelbildern senkrecht aufgenommen. Die mit 10cm Bodenpixeln hochauflösenden Aufnahmen wurden digital entzerrt und anhand von GPS-Daten passgenau zusammengefügt. Parallel zu den Aufnahmen in Echtfarben (RGB) wurden über spezielle Infrarot-Kanäle der Luftbildkamera während des Bildflugs gleichzeitig sogenannte Falschfarben- oder Infrarot-Bilder (CIR) aufgenommen. Solche Aufnahmen werden in der Umweltplanung eingesetzt. So kann zum Beispiel der Vitalitätszustand von Bäumen aus den Bildern interpretiert werden. Das Chlorophyll der Blätter reflektiert in erhöhtem Maße die Infrarotstrahlung. Dieser Effekt lässt die sonst dunkelgrünen Blätter in hellem Rot erscheinen.
