Radiosonde measurements from Neumayer Station (2018-02)
The meteorological observatory Neumayer typically launches one radiosonde per day around 12UTC. At least weekly the sonde has an ozone sensor attached. Sondes are released from the roof of the station building. The measurement interval of the raw data is typically 1s. Data is quality controlled: Erroneous data is removed (technical issues). Partial pressure ozone is manually validated for plausibility.

- Supplemental Information
- Station altitude is 43 m, the launch site is located 25 m higher at 68 m above sea level. The first row of each sounding holds surface data for TTT, RH, ff and dd, which is not acquired by the radiosonde. The measuring height of TTT and RH is 2m, and 10m for dd and ff. The first pressure value of each profile is derived from surface pressure measuements, reduced to the indicated altitude. A change in the sounding system results in different altitudes where the profiles start, so the lowermost altitudes are either 43 m or 68 m. Soundings were performed using a different method (Radiosonde, Vaisala, RS41-SGP) on 2018-02-12T00:00, 2018-02-16T12:00, 2018-02-17T12:00, 2018-02-18T12:00, 2018-02-19T18:00, 2018-02-20T12:00, 2018-02-22T12:00 and 2018-02-23T18:00. For soundings 2018-02-10T00:00 and 2018-02-12T00:00 the parameters "ALTITUDE [m] (Altitude) * COMMENT: Geopotential height above sea level integrated from pressure, temperature and humidity" and "Height, geometric [m] (h geom) * COMMENT: derived from GPS receiver mounted on radiosonde with respect to WGS84 reference ellipsoid" were reduced by 3m due to a misconfigured offset in the sounding unit.
