Gewässerlandschaften
Die WRRL fordert eine Typisierung der Gewässer anhand der wichtigsten regionalen abiotischen und geomorphologischen Merkmale (Anhang II). In einem Projekt der Länderarbeitsgemeinschaft Wasser wurden Landschaftsräume, die weitgehend gleiche geologische (Substrat) und geomorphologische (Relief) Merkmale aufweisen, zu Gewässerlandschaften zusammengefasst und beschrieben sowie anhand des Reliefs die kleinen und mittleren Fließgewässer durch ihre Talformen charakterisiert.
