3D-model of the geothermal reservoir Horstberg
In 2003 BGR purchased the well Horstberg Z1 together with a 3D seismic cube from BEB Erdgas und Erdöl GmbH. This former exploration well provides the worldwide unique opportunity to explore the geothermal usage of not, or only slightly, permeable sandstones. For further modelling tasks a digital 3D model of the quite complex structure was created. The model is based upon a highly detailed seismic interpretation of the 3D cube and was enlarged using parts of the Geotektonischer Atlas 3D (Bombien et al. 2012).
